A Central London hardware business

Romanys supplies ironmongery, DIY materials and power tools from two shops in the middle of London — to the trade, to the businesses around us, and to anyone with a job to finish.

Two shops, a few streets apart

Romanys Ltd trades from 51 Brewer Street in Soho and 13 Shepherd Street in Mayfair. Both are working hardware shops: counters, drawers of fixings, ironmongery on the wall and tools behind the till.

The customers reflect where we are. Tradespeople working on flats and shopfronts. Contractors fitting out restaurants and offices. Building managers and maintenance teams who need something today rather than next week. And people who live locally, putting up a shelf or changing a lock.

What ties those jobs together is that the right part matters more than the cheapest one. A hinge that is 6mm out, a screw that is too short, a blade meant for a different material — each costs more in wasted time than the part ever did.

What we sell

Ironmongery, DIY and power tools

Six departments that cover most of what comes across the counter.

Ironmongery
Door handles, locks and latches, hinges, closers, window and cabinet hardware, letterplates and numerals. The architectural hardware a building needs to work.
Power tools
Drills and drivers, saws, sanders, grinders, multi-tools, batteries and accessories, corded and cordless.
Hand tools
Hammers, screwdrivers, pliers, spanners, chisels, measuring and marking, and somewhere to keep them.
Fixings
Screws, nails, bolts, wall plugs and anchors — by the box or the handful, in the sizes people actually ask for.
DIY and decorating
Adhesives and sealants, fillers, abrasives, tapes, lubricants, and safety gear for the job.
Hardware and household
Electrical accessories, lighting, plumbing sundries, chain and rope, shelving, castors and hooks.

What the mark stands for

Built for a stronger tomorrow

The helmet on our sign is not decoration. It is shorthand for three things we try to get right.

01

Heritage

A proper ironmongery counter. Stock kept in depth rather than in a catalogue, and staff who can tell a sashlock from a deadlock without looking it up.

02

Strength

Products chosen to survive real use. Everyday lines where everyday is enough, heavier-duty ones where it is not, and honest information about which is which.

03

Progress

The range online with full specifications, collection from either shop, accounts for regular buyers, and a search that finds a part by its code.

Who buys from us

Trade counter and shop floor

We are set up to serve both, and we do not treat them as the same thing. A contractor buying fixings by the box wants speed, stock and a running account. Someone fixing a door at home wants to leave with the right part and know how to fit it.

  • Tradespeople and contractors

Accounts, agreed pricing and order history.

  • Businesses and building managers

Maintenance supplies, invoiced to the company.

  • Householders

Advice across the counter and no obligation to buy a trade quantity.

  • Online customers

The same range, with collection from either branch.
