Trade and business

Trade accounts

If you buy for a living, an account keeps the buying tidy: your pricing applied automatically, every order kept, and the same people on the other end of the phone.

What an account gives you

Your pricing, applied automatically
Once terms are agreed, they are applied at checkout and across the counter. You do not have to ask, quote a code, or check the maths afterwards.
Every order kept, with prices
Order history with what you bought, the specification and what you paid — so re-ordering the same fixing in six months takes a minute, not a phone call.
Collection from either branch
Order online and pick up in Soho or Mayfair. We will email you when it is ready to collect.
One point of contact
The same team, in the same two shops. If something is wrong you can speak to a person who can fix it.
Buying for more than one person
Orders sit under one account, so a site foreman and an office manager are not reconciling two sets of receipts.

How it works

Four steps, no paperwork to post

  1. Create an account

A normal customer account, with your name, email and a password. A minute or so.

  2. Send your details

Company or trading name, a contact number, VAT number if you have one, and roughly what you buy.

  3. We review it

A person reads it. We may call to talk it through, then agree terms with you.

  4. It goes live

Your pricing applies from then on, online and in the shop, with nothing further to do.

Terms, any account pricing and payment arrangements are agreed with you directly on approval. We do not publish a standard rate, because it would be wrong for most customers.

Who it suits

Built around Central London work

Most of our trade customers work within a short distance of one of the two shops. That shapes what we keep and how we sell it.

Fit-out and refurbishment

Shopfronts, restaurants and offices. Door hardware, closers, locks and the fixings to hang them.

Property maintenance

Managing agents and in-house teams keeping flats and commercial buildings running.

Carpentry and joinery

Hinges, catches, cabinet hardware, adhesives, abrasives and blades.

Electrical and plumbing

Accessories, sundries, fixings and the consumables that run out mid-job.

Hospitality and retail

Hotels, bars and shops that need a repair done before opening rather than next week.

Small builders

Everything above, in the quantities a two-van outfit actually uses.

Questions

Before you apply

Who can open a trade account?
Trade accounts are for tradespeople, contractors and businesses buying regularly — builders, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, shopfitters, maintenance teams, managing agents and facilities staff. You do not need to be a limited company.
What does it cost?
Nothing to open. Applying costs you nothing and places you under no obligation to buy.
What discount will I get?
Account pricing is agreed with you when your application is approved, based on what and how much you buy. We do not publish a blanket rate, because a single number would be wrong for most people. Ask us and we will tell you straight.
How long does approval take?
We review applications by hand rather than automatically. You will get an email once yours has been looked at. If we need anything else, we will ask.
Can I still buy across the counter?
Yes. Your account applies in the shop and online. Give your name at the counter and the same pricing applies.
Do I have to order online?
No. The account is there to make ordering easier, not to replace the counter or the phone. Plenty of customers order by phone and collect.
